Abstract. This paper gives a fairly complete overview on geometric approaches to design detection filters for unknown signals representing possible changes or faults in a dynamic system. The focus is put on the qLPV system representation since this can include LTI, LTV and certain input affine nonlinear systems. Detection algorithms for filter design will be presented and the FPRG problem will be solved based on the concept of LPV invariant subspaces, inversion based approaches and also null-space based methods will be elaborated.
