In this paper, the differential evolution algorithm for solving optimization problems is adapted for the solution of oscillatory/periodics ordinary differential equations. We propose a new scheme for solving second–order two–point boundary value problems by converting the differential equation to an optimization problem and the solution is obtained via differential evolution algorithm. The parameters of the proposed scheme are approximated using this optimization technique. Numerical examples show the accuracy of the proposed method compared with some existing classical methods.
